Applications are invited from dynamic and result oriented Engineers (Civil, Mechanical, Architecture, Electrical, Electrical & Electronics and Electronics & Communication Engineering), for the CMRL sponsored PG Diploma Course in “Metro Rail Technology and Management”.
Educational Qualification: First-class graduates with minimum aggregate average of 70% marks (relaxed by 5% for SC/ST candidates) in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/ Electrical and Electronics/Electronics and Communication Engineering/Architecture from a recognized University/Institute are eligible to apply. The candidates should have qualified in GATE 2011 or 2012. Final year students who will secure the eligible degree before the commencement of the course can also apply.

Age: Not more than 28 years as on 31-07-2012 (relaxed by 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST).
Selection Process: The candidates short listed based on the GATE score and qualifying examination will be called for a test/interview which will be conducted at IIT Madras in coordination with CMRL. Final selection will be subject to medical fitness.
Stipend: For the one year course, CMRL will pay the candidates a stipend of Rs. 20,000/- per month and also the necessary sponsorship and tuition fees to IIT Madras.
Bond & Notice Period time: Before joining the course, the selected candidates will have to execute a bond of Rs.5 Lakh to serve Chennai Metro Rail Limited for a period of four years (This is inclusive of the PG Diploma course period of about one year). They will also have to give a notice of three months (working) if they want to leave Chennai Metro Rail Limited at any pint of time during the bond period.
Seniority: The inter-seniority of the Executive Trainees in the concerned discipline at Assistant Manager Level will depend on the overall performance at the Post Graduate Diploma Course at IIT Madras. Further, their seniority, in the discipline concerned, upon absorption, will count retrospectively from the date of start of the course at IIT Madras.
Probation: After induction as Assistant Manager, they will be on probation for a period of two years. After successful completion of probation, they will be confirmed as per the HR Policy of CMRL.
Application Fees: The candidates will have to enclose a non-refundable crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 300/- for General & OBC candidates and for Rs. 50/- for SC/ST candidates (for processing cost only) along with application form drawn in favour of Chennai Metro Rail Ltd, payable at Chennai indicating on the reverse of the DD, their name, address and telephone no., if any.
