Qualification: (i) A pass in the SSLC Examination with eligibility for admission to College courses of studies in the Universities in this State. (11 years course of study) OR (ii) A pass in the SSLC Examination of this State. (10 years course of study)

No. of vacancies: 75

Pay Scale: Rs.5200 – 20200

Selection Procedure : Selection will be made in two successive stages i.e., (i) Written Examination and (ii) Oral Test.

Fee: Total Rs.150. Candidates claiming exemption from examination fee should pay only Rs.50 towards Application fee. Candidates have also to pay the service charges applicable to the Bank or Post Office or Fee Processing Agency. Those who have registered in the One - Time Registration system, and paid the registration fee of Rs.50 and received the registration ID need not pay the application fee for a period of 5 years from the date of registration even if he applies for any other posts subsequently notified by the Commission. But those candidates shall pay examination fee, if applicable, on any other occasion. Online Payment is made throughNet Banking, Credit card/ Debit card. Offline Payment through Post Office or Indian Bank.

Company Profile

The Madras Service Commission thus came into being under an Act of the Madras Legislature in 1929. Madras Presidency had the unique honour, of being the only province in India to establish the first Service Commission. The Madras Service Commission started with three Members, including the Chairman. After re-organisation of States in 1957, several Commissions were constituted. The Madras Service Commission became Madras Public Service Commission with headquarters at Madras in the year 1957. During 1970, when the name of the State was changed into Tamil Nadu, the Madras Public Service Commission automatically became the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).
