Sashastra Seema Bal or SSB was established in 1963 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Home Affairs as one of the India’s Central Armed Police Force with the name as Special Service Bureau. Its head quarter is at New Delhi. SSB is a Border Guarding Force which comprise of many departments like department of telecom, Armour, medical, MT, clerical, general duty, intelligence,veterinary,personnel, cipher and legal department. It provide security to he people living in border areas.
SSB invites applications from Indian Nationals for the recruitment of General Duty Medical Officers and Specialists for various locations throughout the country. Candidates who find themselves eligible can come for an interview on 15th March 2012. The recruitment is on contract basis for a period of 1 year. Selection will be through interview and after that shortlisted candidates will be medically examined on the same day by a Board of Medical Officers detailed by concerned composite hospitals.
8 vacancies are for Specialists in Medicine, Surgery, Obs & Gynae, Radiologist, Pathology, Anaesthesia. These placements are for Composite Hospital SSB Gorakhpur, Purnea and Salonibari. For these post, selected candidates will get consolidated salary of Rs.49750/- per month.
32 posts are for Genera Duty Medical Officer ( GDMO ) with consolidated salary of Rs.41213/- per month. These vacancies are for the location of Unit MI Room in SSB at UP Uttarakhand, MP, HP, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Age limit: Candidates with maximum 65 years of age can only apply.
Eligibility: Masters degree of PG degree in related discipline along with at least 1 year and 6 months of working experience is essential for the post of Specialist. While, recognised medical qualification included in 1st/ 2nd schedule or Part II of the 3rd schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 is required for the post of GDMO.
